NTCA Reiterates Support for FCC Proposal to Promote Competition and Spectrum Access in Rural and Tribal Areas

(Nov 21) In reply comments filed with the FCC, NTCA generally supported the FCC’s proposal to allow spectrum licensees to offer to sell unused spectrum covering rural areas to small and Tribal entities via a public database.  NTCA noted that Commission rules still must provide an incentive for spectrum holders to sell unused spectrum to small and Tribal entities and safeguards must be put in place to ensure the Commission’s rules are properly carried out.
