In comments filed with the FCC on June 19, 2020, NTCA encouraged the FCC to follow the recommendations made by NTIA pertaining to the removal and replacement of covered equipment by eligible telecommunications carriers, including (1) promptly seek Congressional funding to reimburse eligible telecommunications carriers for the cost of removing and replacing Huawei or ZTE equipment; (2) allow reimbursement funds to be used for updated equipment and services rather than identical equipment and services; and (3) coordinate national security efforts with other federal agencies.
