NTCA Supports Non-IP Call Authentication Standards as Rural Providers Remain Unable to Effectively Use IP-Based Protocols

(Sep 16) In comments in the FCC’s robocalls proceeding, NTCA stated that many of its members continue to face barriers to the exchange of voice traffic with other providers in IP format.  As this prevents them from effectively using STIR/SHAKEN call authentication, in the absence of FCC action to remove these barriers, the agency can and should mandate the use of non-IP call authentication standards.
