On July 22, 2020, NTCA supported in comments FCC proposals to streamline the process of collocating wireless equipment on towers subject to Section 6409(a) of the Spectrum of 2012. More importantly, NTCA asked the FCC to take a “wireless needs wires” view of the barriers to infrastructure deployment and lend its expertise to other federal agencies that have jurisdiction over the deployment of fiber facilities and urge them to use the former’s infrastructure streamlining efforts as a model for similar measures.
