Arlington, Va. (November 10, 2014)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield regarding President Barack Obama’s remarks on net neutrality rules:
“While NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association is still considering the full breadth of the steps recommended by President Obama, his statement rightly focuses in the first instance on the essential importance of broadband in today’s communications marketplace. NTCA’s members have long been focused on ensuring every American has access to robust and affordable broadband, and the association has long advocated for common-sense rules of the road to ensure that the networks that underpin those services operate seamlessly in fulfilling consumer demands and expectations. NTCA looks forward to a continuing conversation regarding how to achieve these important objectives without imposing regulations where they are not needed or where they could stymie innovation or investment.”
