Arlington, Va., (August 13, 2014) – Rep. Bob E. Latta (R–Ohio) and FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai will tour facilities and participate in roundtable discussions with NTCA– The Rural Broadband Association member company McClure Telephone Co. (McClure, Ohio) on August 14.

Latta and Pai are scheduled to participate in roundtable discussions with telco representatives on a number of key regulatory issues, including rural call completion, the Universal Service Fund/intercarrier compensation transformation order, the Connect America Fund and the IP transition.

“I am thrilled that Representative Latta and Commissioner Pai are taking the time to visit rural Ohio to see firsthand the challenges of providing high-quality communications services to sparsely populated areas of our nation,” said NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield. “Community-based telecommunications providers like McClure Telephone Co. are the answer to building a broadband future for rural, small-town communities.”
