Arlington, Va. (January 14, 2014) – NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Senior Vice President of Policy Michael Romano regarding the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit decision on the FCC's open Internet rules:
“The court’s ruling today on the FCC’s net neutrality rules opens up another set of important questions for consideration in connection with the ongoing IP evolution debate and new legislative initiatives. It is essential, however, that core principles of universal service form the foundation of new policies as they develop if we are to ensure that consumers in high-cost rural areas can have access to affordable, high-quality communications services. These core objectives should not be forgotten, ignored or discarded in the next stages of debate.ˮ
