Arlington, Va., (September 19, 2014)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today submitted comments to the House Energy and Commerce Committee regarding the committee’s “#CommActUpdate – White Paper 5: Universal Service Policy and the Role of the Federal Communications Commission.”
In its remarks, NTCA said rather than restructuring the means of distribution of the Universal Service Fund (USF) within any given program, Congress should focus on giving the FCC specific direction and carefully crafted tools to update the existing USF mechanisms for an IP-enabled, broadband-capable world.
