Arlington, Va. (February 24, 2014) – Dale Merten, chief operating officer of Toledo Telephone Co. (Toledo, Wash.), was elected president of the Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) at the Rural Telecom Industry Meeting & EXPO, hosted by NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, in San Antonio, Texas.
Nancy J. White, president & chief executive officer of North Central Telephone Cooperative (Lafayette, Tenn.), was elected vice president; and Daniel Riazzi, financial advisor for Riazzi, Rhyne & Swaim Investment Group of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC (Winston-Salem, N.C.), was elected secretary/treasurer.
The foundation also elected James Michael Grisham, controller for Shawnee Telephone Co. (Equality, Ill.), and Stephen D. Milner, general manager of Planters Telephone Cooperative (Newington, Ga.), to fill at-large seats. Ellen Classen, vice president of business development for Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative (Dulles, Va.), was chosen as a new associate board member.
FRS also celebrated its 20th anniversary in San Antonio with a Texas HoeDown at Cowboys Dancehall featuring line-dancing, armadillo races and barbeque.
