NTCA Members to Testify Before Congressional Subcommittees

As part of our efforts to promote ongoing investment in advanced communications services for rural Americans, NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association is pleased to announce that representatives of two member companies will participate in two separate congressional hearings this week.

Lang Zimmerman, vice president of Yelcot Telephone Co. (Mountain Home, Ark.), will testify tomorrow during the hearing, “Coordinating Future Investments in Broadband,” hosted by the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Livestock, Rural Development and Credit. The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern and will be streamed live online.

On Thursday, July 31, Maggie Basgall, community development specialist for Nex-Tech (Lenora, Kan.), will testify during the House Small Business Subcommittee on Health and Technology hearing, “Telemedicine: A Prescription for Small Medical Practices?” The hearing will begin at 10 a.m. Eastern and will be streamed live online

Both witnesses will testify about the role federal programs play in improving health care and public safety, and the economic benefits brought to rural Americans through the deployment of robust broadband.
