Congress, NTCA Applaud Rural Bidding Credit

Arlington, Va. (July 1, 2015)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield regarding letters sent to the FCC in support of the agency’s proposal to include a rural bidding credit in the upcoming incentive auction:

“NTCA–The Rural Broadband Associations joins Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D–N.D.), Rep. Kristi Noem (R–S.D.) and 11 of their colleagues in thanking FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler for presenting a rural carrier bidding credit for use in the upcoming 600 MHz auction, and in encouraging the agency to offer robust opportunities to small carriers who seek low-band spectrum to serve rural communities.”
