FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The 2015 Fall Conference wrapped up in Boston with a series of keynote speeches that left conference attendees in the know about industry trends and challenges as well as inspired to work toward future successes.

The closing general session got underway with a Foundation for Rural Service update where Board President Nancy White and newly appointed Executive Director Jessica Golden talked about foundation happenings for the upcoming year.

Next, panelists David Fritz, with Alcatel-Lucent; Craig Steen, with Clear2There, and Chris Johnson, with Cisco, took the stage to discuss the “Internet of Things” and deliberated the most likely scenarios for recurring revenues in this rapidly growing need to monetize broadband. Brent Comstock, rural innovator and start-up junkie, also spoke about how to keep technology firms in rural communities and how to engage youth in your communities.

The final speaker was Carey Lohrenz, author and former aviator, who shared approaches for delivering great results in even the most challenging situations. She offered tips to help teams triumph in this high-risk, time-crunched world.
