Arlington, Va. (March 23, 2015)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield in support of the Improving Rural Call Quality and Reliability Act of 2015 introduced today by Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D–Minn.) and Jon Tester (D–Mont.):

“Senators Klobuchar and Tester are true leaders and champions for rural America, proving that yet again today by introducing this important piece of legislation. A year after similar legislation was introduced and years after these problems were first identified, we continue to see great frustration due to the inability of consumers in rural areas to receive phone calls. While the FCC has taken a number of important steps already, the problem continues—and this bill would bring least-cost routers out of the shadows, help to ensure the reliability of our nation’s networks, and promote the safety and well-being of rural Americans.”
