Arlington, Va. (January 30, 2015)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Senior Vice President of Policy Michael Romano regarding the results of the FCC’s AWS-3 auction:

“NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association applauds the FCC for a successful auction. However, the outcome of this auction also demonstrates that, assuming a competitive wireless marketplace is the desired goal, the bidding credits offered to small businesses cannot alone make up for the vast difference in resources between small providers and regional and nationwide providers. The commission must ensure that small providers have realistic opportunities to obtain spectrum and the ability to thrive in a competitive marketplace.”
