Arlington, Va. (August 15, 2016)—The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) Congressional Broadband Tour will host nineteen congressional staffers in Wyoming on August 15–18.
The tour will include visits to broadband companies Tri-County Telephone Association (Cody, Wyo.), RT Communications (Worland, Wyo.), Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. (Dubois, Wyo.) and Silver Star Communications (Freedom, Wyo.).
“The FRS Congressional Broadband Tour is a great opportunity to bring congressional staffers to rural communities where they can get a firsthand look and experience the operation, challenges and impacts of rural broadband,” said FRS Executive Director Jessica Golden. “These visits will show the role broadband plays in supporting health care, public safety, economic development, education and agriculture in rural communities.”
The annual educational tour is made possible by donations to the foundation from individuals, companies and organizations like Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative (RTFC).
