Arlington, Va. (August 9, 2016)—Rep. Dave Loebsack (D–Iowa) and FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel will host a roundtable today at Skiff Medical Center in Newton, Iowa, on the unique challenges that rural health care providers face and how emerging technologies can improve access for rural patients.

NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association members Donald Jennings, executive vice president of Partner Communications Cooperative (Gilman, Iowa), and Kevin Hranicka, general manager of Van Buren Telephone (Keosauqua, Iowa), will speak at the event.

Following the roundtable, Loebsack and Rosenworcel will visit Partner Communications Cooperative’s Giga Center in Baxter, Iowa. Jennings will lead the tour and describe the benefits that high-speed broadband can offer to rural communities.

NTCA today issued the following statement from NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield regarding Loebsack’s and Rosenworcel’s visit to Iowa:

“NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association thanks Representative Loebsack and FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel for their continuing leadership on communications policy and their dedication to rural America. We are pleased that our members had a chance to discuss how rural telecommunications providers are improving the quality of life for rural Americans and how rural telecom investment benefits all Americans.”

Partner Communications received NTCA’s Certified Gig-Capable Provider recognition earlier this year.
