Arlington, Va., (September 1, 2020)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association today issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield regarding the establishment by the FCC, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) of an interagency Rural Telehealth Initiative Task Force comprised of representatives from each agency.

“There can be no doubt that the rural communications networks our members operate—often in partnership with FCC and USDA initiatives—are critical to telehealth applications in rural America. NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association looks forward to working with the Rural Telehealth Initiative Task Force to leverage these networks and highlight the importance of telehealth through this thoughtful interagency approach.”
