Arlington, Va., (December 7, 2021)—NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association issued the following statement from Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield congratulating FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel on her confirmation by the U.S. Senate:

“On behalf of NTCA’s members, I want to offer my sincerest congratulations to Chairwoman Rosenworcel. Throughout her time as an FCC commissioner, and before that as a senior congressional and FCC staffer, Chairwoman Rosenworcel has been a problem-solver and a tireless advocate for overcoming barriers to broadband access for all Americans. She has taken many opportunities to get out in the field and see for herself the great work that NTCA members are doing in their communities, as well as the challenges that lie ahead to reach and keep connected those consumers who live and work in the farthest corners of rural America. Personally, I take great heart in the glass ceiling that she is shattering in becoming the first permanent female chairwoman of the FCC. I look forward to continuing to work with her on our shared goal of robust and affordable connectivity for all.”
