On October 20, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the use of a booster dose for COVID-19 vaccines in eligible populations. The agency amended the emergency use authorizations for COVID-19 vaccines to allow a single booster dose of the three main COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson) for select populations. Good news! COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots are 100% paid by GHP like other preventive care benefits. During this ongoing public health emergency, GHP will pay the entire cost even if the vaccine is administered by an out-of-network provider.
