NTCA Supports FCC’s Goal of High-Speed Internet Access for Schools and Libraries but Identifies Areas of Concern for Consideration

(Jan 29) In reply comments filed with the FCC, NTCA supported the FCC’s goal of ensuring students, school staff and library patrons have access to high-speed Internet services. However, NTCA pointed to the intended use by Congress of the Emergency Connectivity Funding (“ECF”), the expansion of the definition of “schools and libraries” to allow for Wi-Fi hotspots in homes and the inability to fulfill CIPA’s requirements as areas of concern for the FCC to consider.
