DRN Installs Essential ER Telehealth in North Dakota

Access to high-quality healthcare just got easier for one North Dakota community thanks to high-speed fiber connectivity from its local provider.

DRN (Ellendale, N.D.) recently completed a telehealth project with Ashley Medical Center, a Level V trauma center and Acute Stroke Ready hospital which provides care for patients living in rural North Dakota.

To enhance the quality of health care provided as well as provide access to ER-certified doctors, the medical center hired DRN and its IT division ReadiTech to bring this state-of-the-art system to the community.

Andrew Meyer, ReadiTech managed services solutions supervisor, and Tyler Zahn, network analyst, worked to wire the Emergency and Critical Care Rooms and installed a camera, microphone and monitor to bring the new system to life.

Now, at the push of a button, the medical teams can connect to a call center in Sioux Falls, S.D., that partners with medical providers to offer doctors and nurses who will help with questions or provide documentation for rural or underserved communities.
