NTCA Discusses Spectrum and T-Mobile merger with staff from Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel's Office

On February 15, 2019, NTCA staff Jill Canfield, Vice President of Legal, and Brian Ford, Senior Regulatory Counsel met with Umair Javed from Commissioner Rosenworcel's office to discuss wireless issues pertaining to the 2.5 GHz and 3.7 GHz spectrum. NTCA also discussed the proposed Sprint/T-Mobile merger and reiterated its opposition, explaining the negative effects the merger would have on rural America.

On February 11, 2019, Mike Romano, NTCA Vice President of Industry Affairs met with Arielle Roth, wireline legal advisor to Commissioner Michael O'Rielly. NTCA discussed various policy initiatives including Network Performance Testing, Intercarrier Compensation and Rate Floor issues.

On February 7, 2019, Mike Romano, NTCA Senior Vice President of Industry Affairs, met with Jamie Susskind, chief of staff to Commission Brendan Carr. NTCA discussed various policy initiatives including Network Performance Testing, Intercarrier Compensation and Rate Floor issues.

NTCA Members meet with Chairman Pai at RTIME

On February 5, 2019, NTCA members and staff met with Chairman Ajit Pai during the NTCA RTIME conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. NTCA expressed appreciation to the Chairman and staff at the Federal Communications Commission for the order with respect to high-cost universal service. NTCA members discussed their intent to deploy additional broadband in 2019 to benefit rural consumers based upon the greater predictability provided by the order.
